FAQ
How is the gateway different from installing an MCP?
A normal MCP is installed on your machine: command, args, env vars, restart the client — for every server. The gateway is connected once, as a single remote server, and the servers behind it are dispatched on the fly.
How does the AI find the right server?
The gateway exposes three meta-tools: search_mcps finds a server by task description, list_mcp_tools shows its tools, use_mcp_tool calls one. Servers pinned by you or your team are available immediately, with no search.
How is it billed?
Calls are debited from the team’s prepaid balance. Debits are atomic — going negative is impossible: if the balance is short, the call does not run and you get a clear error rather than an invoice.
Which clients are supported?
Any client that speaks remote MCP: Claude (web and desktop), ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, Windsurf, Zed (Settings → AI → MCP Servers → Add Remote Server). Authorization is OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration and PKCE.
